CZ 97 BD is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 ACP manufactured by Ceska Zbrojovka Often nicknamed “The Czech Bruiser”, this version (discontinued in 2022) is distinguished by its decocker lever and firing pin block.
The pistol features all-steel construction, a 122 mm (4.8-inch) barrel, and weighs approximately 1.09 kg (2.4 pounds) unloaded. Its frame includes aluminum grips, a firing pin safety, and a loaded chamber indicator. Due to its double/single-action design, shooters can safely operate it with the hammer uncocked or manually cocked.
This model is no longer actively produced by Ceska Zbrojovka , but it remains highly sought after by gun enthusiasts for its accuracy and ability to fire .45 ACP ammunition smoothly
Just as the standard 75 has a decocker variant, so does the 97. For those who prefer the heavy double action first pull, the BD model adds a manual decocker to help drop the hammer to half-cock.
